If you're wondering why there hasn't been a This is Normal, the answer is two-fold: One, I've had a sudden shift to full time work that's taking time and energy that would otherwise go to comics. Two, me n Alexx have been dealing with the stress of knowing that we could well end up not seeing each other again for nearly/over 6 months, depending on how things play out.

She leaves tomorrow. If things on my end surpass expectations, I could be there on a work permit around New Year-to-February kind of time. If things go as we expect them to, I'll be applying for a working holiday visa next March. Either way, it's a long wait. We've done the long distance before, but it was at the start of the relationship when we didn't have so many habits about each other, we were still getting used to each other, everything was new which made changing the form of the relationship easier to cope with (that and there were other traumatic events to deal with that kept us distracted for the time until we were used to being apart). It's the same as last time except for all the many ways in which it's different. I have no doubts that we can do it - I just know that it's going to suck major balls in the meantime.

Did you ever thought about a marriage

Yes. The fiance visa only gets us 6 months and she wouldn't be able to work the whole time. The spousal visa requires me to earn £18,600 a year, and if we don't get the fiance first, also requires us to have been married for two years prior.

That is, indeed, one terrible joke...
Stay strong. I hope things will get better.
