Ok, so I recently started jamming with this drummer called Vincent, and it's pretty damn cool. We're actually looking to find a bass player to jam with us. I've asked one guy at the moment, but he doesn't go to our school, so it'd have to involve jamming else where. Probably my house, cos we have a drum kit and an amp the bassist can use, and my semi-acoustic can go without an amp.

If it did get to the point where we decided we'd be an actual band and record jamming sessions and perform somewhere, then we've got a shortlist of names: "Botch Jobs", "Botched Up", or "Blue Shell Boom".
The first two come from the fact that, when jamming at school, you've got to try and make up for the fact that you're missing equipment, or that what isn't missing is broken. For instance, I often use a folded up piece of paper for a plectrum, and Vinnie sometimes uses pens to play the drums with.

That's a pretty long description. I wonder if anyone'll actually read that all the way through...

If I could play bass, I'd offer myself. Unfortunately, my musical talent is limited to pretty good whistling, and average growling.

depending on the thickness of the plastic, a piece of water bottle can make for a good pick...

I'm amazing at bass! On Rock Band...

@Newbs - Hmm... Not sure that's quite what we're looking for.

@Nat - Yeh, but that requires scissors.

@Deb - Yeh, but being good at an instrument on Rock Band is like being good at life on the Sims. It doesn't really translate easily to real life, and you still need to work out how to do it properly.

I play the radio...does that count? ;)
