This is something that bugs me. When people will say "no one will get this, it's not funny". It just annoys me when people just assume that no one will get a joke just because they don't know the thing it's referencing, when I know for a fact that there are enough people in the group that's actually going to be seeing it (ie - the internet) who will get it.
And if the internet is the audience, then it's very difficult to prove them wrong. Because they'll go, "ok, let's show it to someone else!" And ofcourse, that'll be the one moment where no one else with any experience of the internet beyond Facebook and YouTube is anywhere nearby, and so you look like an idiot, and the other guy gets that smug smile that I hate so much.

I promise Friday's comic will actually be funny, and not rant-y.

Ah, but the blissful moment when you're in a group of people and you reference something memetic (I think my answer to Q2 made my essay 20% cooler in 10 seconds flat.) but only one other person notices it. Immediate Bro (hoof) fist and looks of confusion. XD

I hate this.
I try to keep an entourage of nerds around me, but sadly it doesn't often happen. thought at lunch when we all come together we're known as "The Crazy Bastards in the Corner" Because we are constantly laughing our heads off.
