One of the dumbest reactions I've seen to the shootings in France is this idea that seems to get passed around that Muslims everywhere need to take to the streets and shout "I THINK KILLING PEOPLE IS BAD" in order to not get lumped in with the terrorists, which is ridiculous. Most Muslims are the same as everyone else in that they have jobs and lives they want to keep living, and don't feel the need to take an hour of their time to go appease some moron who doesn't get that 4 gunmen are not representative of a religion belonging to a billion people.

People shouldn't have to come out and say "I think terrorism is bad" in order to not be thought of as being terrorist-sympathisers.

"Yes, those cartoons were distasteful and offensive, but there is no possible way of justifying this attack" should be the default position of everyone looking at the situation right now, and y'know what - it almost certainly is.
